Fire teams hope to contain active flank of La Palma fire today

The Canarian Government says this lunchtime that all fronts of the La Palma fire are now stabilized. There will be a meeting this afternoon to coordinate firefighting measures that will still need to be taken over the next few days. The maximum fire risk alert remains in place for all islands and the Government asks the public to take the utmost care and follow official signs and advice.

The news is reporting that 7% of the total area of the island has been burned.  The gent who started it faces up to 10 years in jail.

We do indeed!! There was a brief respite then it blew back in yesterday ... yellow alert for Tenerife today for temps of up to 34º but nothing tomorrow ... short and (not so) sweet ...
