I've just opened the door to let dog out, she walked about 2 feet, growled at the rain, walked back inside, backwards, and went back to bed.  :cheesy:

One has stayed in bed, one has gone back to bed, and we've had another 3.5mm.

El Profesor

It used to do this quite a lot when I lived in England. The dogs used to get wet.

I don't understand how there can be strong gales in north Tenerife with total calm here in the West.

Guanche

No wind here P just steady rain.

The above radar image from Aemet within the last quarter of an hour shows the situation - and that is that Tenerife is completely invisible for the rain! This morning's emergency feed is absolutely littered with incidents ranging from road accidents, fallen cables and trees, collapsed walls, minor fires, etc., thankfully none of them major. The Los Realejos fire has been declared under control as of 8.15am, not least thanks to the heavy rain which has now started in the north- we have it in the west coast hills too. There are many reports of rockfalls, but the only road closure at the moment is the road to San Andres near Santa Cruz port. For flights, if anyone is travelling today, do check before leaving for the airport because there are already some 46 cancellations. JA

Janet

As you'd expect with such torrential downpours, the Los Realejos fire is now extinguished.

Nova

The waves here are enormous!!!
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

We had a slight letup in the rain so got the dogs out to do their thing - whew.  They wouldn't go out in this in England and see no reason to change their (tiny little) minds here.

I had to run down to San Juan and was pleased to see 99% of people driving with lights on and within the speed limit, and very sensibly.

It is very heavy in the west again and we've had more than 30mm since midnight.
