"A 23-year-old man from Nottingham was taken to hospital in a serious condition after Tuesday's second running of the bulls, part of the weeklong San Fermín festival in the Navarre capital".

Good one, bulls.

The Guardia Civil is despairing about the new craze for taking selfies in bull runs. The pic below is this morning's offering from San Fermin, where they say "not the best place for a selfie. Just turn off the mobile and RUN" ...

It all might not survive if there are more idiots like this ...

"Hay muchos sitios para hacerte un #selfie, pero NO en el #encierro . Apaga tu móvil y corre #EncierroSanFermin "

Why are they despairing? (Assuming a corporate body can despair, which is debatable) Why should they care if a few idiots end up trampled or gored? Quite amusing really. Darwin and all that.  :great:

The bull run doesn't bother me really, I don't think the bulls are under much stress running down a street.

Nor me. If I was a bull, i'd be thinking 'Great. Payback time!'  :great:

Now, they have imposed fines of up to €3000 for anybody taking a "selfie" during the run, because it endangers the public. Like it isn't dangerous anyway.  :sign0065:

Here is a nice piccy of a the latest serious injury when a bull fell over, got very cross, and charged at the nearest moron. They make it sound like the innocent victim of a nasty vicious animal.

On a more general note, more noise is being made about small local festivals which torture animals to honour a local saint. In particular, one where a bull is selected and sytematically tortured to death by morons with lances (Just have a look at the photo in the link, how the bull is transported to the killing grounds)

Noises are being made that this all unacceptable. Interestingly, because these practices are protected by stupid laws governing "tradition" and "tourism attraction" the animal rights people are starting to take legal action against the church, which probably doesn't condone the practices anyway.

Spain should be ashamed that they still have one foot in medieval times.
