He was able to describe where he was, which is probably why they've been able to focus the search today in the barranco de Niágara, and he reported that he needed water, and that he was a diabetic. Helicopters are still up and it is a good 30 degrees outside.

Guardia Civil mountain rescuers have found the elderly German hiker who has been missing in the Niágara barranco in Guía de Isora since Monday. He was found alive and well, though suffering from symptoms of dehydration, and was taken by helicopter to the Adeje helipad before being transferred to a hospital for an evaluation of his condition. JA
