Family in Las Palmas sent to prison for hiding a house

It was worth a try. This report says (I think) that their house had been repossessed and when the new owner went to take possession, he couldn't because it had disappeared. What they had done was to camouflage the house, annexing it to the adjacent house (owned by them), repainting it and altering the roof, changing the house number, and falsifying some documents related to boundaries, so effectively making it disappear.

Brilliant. But did they really think they would get away with it? Would the new owner just see nothing, shrug his/her shoulders and forget about it?
