Canaries now come down the list for sunshine. Malaga is now the tops in Spain. (climate change). When I purchased my place 1993, only ever light fluffy white things. Now you seem to have to go to Callao and beyond to lose the mountain clouds.

I have heard that in the winter months there was nothing but blue sky and perhaps a few fluffy clouds.  Now nearly year round you have grey clouds sticking to the high points in the west day and night.  It may dawn bright but before 1100 the cover will have come over.  Big shame.

I've been saying it for a few years now. The guaranteed sunshine is a thing of the past. Once people start to see it, there could well be a drop in visitor numbers. If we can believe everything we read, that doesn't seem to be happening yet but time will tell.

The old "Ah well, at least it'll be better than home" line won't wash for too much longer. It's a 4 hour flight, the costs of which are rapidly increasing. Why bother when it can be done in half the time and at a lower cost?

When I read Del's post about Malaga I had a look at their weather, and also Majorca compared to Tenerife in winter and to be honest there's not that much difference.

I would imagine the changes might come as a bit of a relief to anyone living in Tenerife but it definitely needs it's tourism.

Yes have to agree big changes to weather here now
As ‘ veteran visiitors’ Of nearly 30 years ,we’ve experienced all the changes
First 20 years don’t think we ever saw grey skies  or rain
December/ January 17 by contrast was bad, so cold in evenings ,frozen feet ,my friend even bought me a hot water bottle from ‘ cow ‘ shop !!
May this year was definately worst we’ve experienced
Coincidentally on a cruise last year we couldn’t dock in Malaga as seas rough and weather wild
Maybe a rethink ofholidays needed  :03:

Yeap sure I've said before we used to run out cheering when it rained. You've only gotta look at pics in the 90's to see how barren the land was up in them there hills !!
