OH would like to know where Maya is please.   :tiphat:

Nova

These won't be anywhere near as good as the directions Janet gave me, but....

In Las Americas, take the road where the prossies hang out and turn right by the Columbus hotel to go down towards Veronicas and the new Iceland.  At the end with Iceland on your right and Santander on your left, follow the road to the right and you're heading towards Veronicas strip.  Carry on straight past Starco and just near Burger King you'll see Maya on the right.  I usually manage to find parking by turning left just after Maya where there are parking spaces and bars just below road level  :tiphat:

Here's a little googlemap ... it starts on the Las Americas junction off the motorway, taking the main dual carriageway road down to the national police ...

followed by a pic of it ... to take the pic, you'd have been standing with your back right up to Bobby's bar ... and that cannot be missed because it's part of the Veronicas with a huge sign on top of it saying Bobby's Bar ...

HERE'S SOME GREAT NEWS ABOUT LAND'S END!

To make a long story short, like Amazon, if you select your shipping destination as Canary Islands, not Spain, Land's End (.co.uk) will automatically take off the VAT, saving you 20%.

I just had a call from Ann at Land's End who was concerned because the fleece robe I ordered was going to Spain (from where it should be rerouted here) and I would not receive it next week.  So she's sending a new one to Tenerife registered mail and I can return the other one when it eventually gets here.  And they'll refund the postage when I send it.  She also refunded the VAT on my order.

I told Ann I would let everybody know.  I am overjoyed because I can now shop there more frequently.  Also the robe I ordered was originally £49.00, marked down to £19.50 in the outlet section, and now I'm saving another 20% off that!

I very much look forward to not freezing next week too.   :snowwindow:

I know this thread hasn't been used in a long time, but...

I ordered something from Amazon.es at the weekend.  Today I received a text message to my mobile from Correos (not UPS) to say "En breve recibirá en su domicilio el envio PQ26******** remitido por Amazon EU SARL".  Why are Correos sending me text messages and how much do you think they're going to hit me for to receive it?

When I had a PO box Correos used to regularly text me when something arrived.  It was brilliant.  They may not hit you up at all.

Think positive doll!

I've received it today and had to pay 30 euros including the handling charge by Correos.  Could have been worse I suppose.

OK, so I don't know what you ordered but we ordered a Kettle and a toaster from Amazon.es for delivery to Tenerife, we didn't get a text message but we also weren't charged handling when the items were delivered  :017:
