I fell asleep once curled up inside a giant graceful loopy bronze Henry Moore sculpture on a hazy summer's afternoon in Hyde Park in London. For me, he is an artist I have grown up with, he has touched my life.

Years later, ambling down the Ramblas street in Santa Cruz de Tenerife after a heavy night at the carnival with a group of friends I stumbled upon what was unmistakeably one of his creations. A dying soldier prostrate in smooth angular bronze curves on the pavement.
It was a moving encounter.

The sculpture in Las Ramblas is called The Goslar Warrior and it has been there since 1977.

A unique opportunity.
They have brought seven Henry Moore bronzes for an open air exhibition in the public squares of Santa Cruz. They will be there until December.

This coincides with the 40th anniversary of the great open air sculpture exhibition of Dec/Jan 1974.

Sorry, forgot to mention this. They all seem to be around the Plaza Principe The largest being outside the Caja Canaria Bank.

You would need a dam big 'Grua' to move the one from the front of the bank. It must be seven metres tall! :)
