Alerts for high seas and windy unsettled weather this weekend

An atmospheric front is approaching, and although it appears at present that it won't bring too much in the way of problems, there might be some unsettled weather and a bit of rain over the weekend. What is clearer, however, is that it will bring very heavy seas with it, and Tenerife, along with the other islands, is on orange alert on the north coast for "costeros" tomorrow, yellow for other coasts, reducing to yellow alert for the whole island on Saturday. Inevitably, it will be quite windy. The Canarian Government has issued THIS advice sheet, HERE in English. As usual, most of it is common sense, but it bears repetition. JA

Yesterday i went for a walk in Galettas and came back sandblasted .

Absolutely awful here.  Wind whistling like mad all day.

Still terribly windy up here. Matt's not going to be happy when he comes on Tuesday!  Anyone any idea when it will go away?  I need to sit in the sun to keep warm, but that leaves me open to get burnt.  :-[

By Sunday I think.  But don't take that as gospel as I am not a meterologist. We're in the west and it has died down significantly.  I no longer think we have ghosts.
