I need a thermometer  :-[

Edit:  Oh wait, I have one behind the piggy pen.  I've no idea whether it works or not.  It says 27º, does that sound right  :undecided:

Wimp!!!  :P The last time I went to Dubai it was 48. and 50 on the airport tarmac, so had to wait an hour before taking off, as it seems luggage was unloaded as weight needed to be reduced before take off in that temp. Not sure why, but I'm sure the Pilot had a reason.

Yeah, but you're a tough macho he-man blokey, I'm a delicate little flower

And no, I don't care that, with that remark, 50 years of feminism goes out the window

Orange alert ended yesterday, was a yellow alert today ... which ended at 7pm ... so it's officially cool now ....

Nova

Thanks for telling me, I'll pass the message on to the sweat that's still pooling on my face... ::)

Aemet has now lifted the heatwave alert for Tenerife. Today, Gran Canaria remains on yellow alert, but  from tomorrow, there will be no alerts in any of the Canaries. Good news particularly, of course, for firefighting efforts in La Gomera. JA

.....weight needed to be reduced before take off in that temp. Not sure why, but I'm sure the Pilot had a reason.

As temperature increases the air becomes less dense and therefore creates less lift for the airplane.

Each airplane has its own specifications that dictate, based on weight, engine performance, temperature, humidity, and elevation how much runway a pilot requires to safely take off.
