Diver dies near Los Cristianos

Sadly, a 47-year-old diver died this morning after suffering a heart attack shortly after starting his dive near to Los Cristianos. Emergency services were called out just before 11am with reports that he had been pulled out of the water but was unconscious on the boat. Resuscitation attempts were carried out even as the boat was heading for Los Cristianos harbour, where efforts were taken up by paramedics, but nothing they could do was able to bring the poor soul back to life. The Guardia Civil is carrying out the necessary formalities. JA
