The main Romeria season is during the summer (see the main post HERE), but even this early in the year it's possible to find some traditional festivities, and starting today is the first of 2017, Arona's Fiestas Patronales y Romería in honour of San Antonio Abad. The fiesta takes place in the town of Arona itself, but for the main day on Sunday transport is laid on from Los Cristianos and Playa de las  Américas so everyone is able – indeed welcome – to attend. The fiesta lasts until Tuesday 17 January, and the full programme is HERE (transport details are on the last page, and in English as well as Spanish).
