You should be as lucky as I am

At least they didn't ask for my NIE.

On the off chance that I am contributing to the good of society, I am participating.  I suppose I could have pretended no one in the house spoke Spanish but that's a bit dicey.

I am not prepared to risk the fine anyway.

Surely they already have the NIE if they are doing this as a consequence of you having a work contract.

Myrtle Hogan-Lance

Oh hell Prof, it came from the INE.  They have everything don't they?

El Profesor

Yes, and they have very probably planted listening devices inside the house now. You should never have let them in.
I really think you should seriously consider meeting this "representative" on a neutral park bench.

I do hope you don't end up having to move house.

Oh you crazy thing.  I did not even invite him in.  I had just finished breakfast and the dog was barking and I thought it was the postwoman so went tripping downstairs to find...the nice survey man.  Could not let him in because of said barking Zebulon, and he never asked (not like in the UK where people rudely demand to be let in ad want a cup of tea) and it was all very nice.

El Profesor

So they definitely know you have dogs. That could be to your advantage  :great:

At long last, I have participated in my last survey for the project.  For the second time in a row I was quizzed by a woman from Cádiz who spoke very rapidly in a voice that sounds like she smokes 60 cigarettes a day.

My contribution to society is now complete.  I shall not miss the calls every three months.
