What the hell happened to our fireworks?

Our town's fiesta was supposed to feature fireworks tonight, after mass at 2200 and before the gran verbena at 2300.  In the past they've always started between 2240 and 2245.

We were installed on the roof in time.  Then nothing happened.  It was a bit overcast but clearing.  The Bomberos drove away down the street before 2300.  We could hear the band tuning up.  Then they began to play and you know there are gong to be no fireworks then.

What happens in a case like this?  Are the fireworks done the next day?

The dogs are in the kennels tonight, expressly to get them away from the fireworks.  Of which there were none.  And we have a social engagement out tomorrow evening.

Thank goodness I did not have our traditional fireworks party tonight.

Perikles might know in the morning, but we heard fireworks earlier, and they were so loud - but not right near us - that they had to be yours, or I would have thought so anyway! I just can't work out what time it was ...

We were in Torviscas and heard some also, around 2100.  They were not ours - I'd put my life on it.

OK so around 10pm, I'd say they were yours, Myrtle, they were very close but not immediately so. What time did you get back to your village?

We got back by 1030.  The fireworks went off at 1000.  First time in living memory.  They won't catch me out next year!
