Accident on TF-1 today around noon near Parque de la Reina

I got held up for a while today heading north.  It turns out there was an accident on the TF-1 near Parque de la Reina, and as I passed it, it was evident it was a bad one.  The Guardia Civil had cut off so much of the motorway we were nearly touching the centre divide.

There was a VW Up upside down on its roof on the carriageway, and also a little Berlingo-type vehicle, also on its roof.  They were crashed into one another.

I do not believe the inhabitants of either vehicle walked out of the accident.  If they survived, they were damned lucky. 

It was a very sobering scene.
