Young woman in critical condition after being knocked down on TF1

Emergency services say that a 24-year-old woman is in hospital after being knocked down on the TF1. The incident happened in the Fasnia area around half past six this morning, and when paramedics arrived at the scene they found her with severe head injuries and in cardiac arrest. After resuscitating and stabilizing her at the scene, they transferred her to Hospital Univ. Ntra. Sra. de La Candelaria where she is said to be in critical condition. JA

Sadly, this young woman, said to be a resident of La Laguna, has died from the injuries she received in yesterday's accident on the TF1. It appears that she was crossing the motorway on foot after the car in which she was a passenger had broken down. She had been in the car with two other women and after pulling up on the hard shoulder, these had stayed with the car but the victim had crossed to the opposite northbound carriageway, with tragic results.
