Adeje mother sought after baby found dead

Police say they are looking for a woman after her five-month-old baby girl was found dead by its father in its cot in their home yesterday morning in the Roque del Conde area of Adeje. The main search is focused on the El Tanque area since her car was found last evening at Erjos. The cause of the baby's death will not be known until autopsy results are found but one hypothesis is that it was a case of sudden-death syndrome and that the mother fled the property after finding her daughter's body. All that is clear for the moment is that she was being treated for postnatal depression, and that her husband is a medical doctor who tried to resuscitate his child, but tragically failed. JA

The baby's mother was found  late on Monday evening and has been interviewed by police, whose investigation continues. She at least is safe and well. JA
