A 71-year-old man has been seriously injured after being knocked down on the TF1 in the San Eugenio area at lunchtime today. The incident happened at 12.27pm, and emergency services were called out with reports that a pedestrian had been run over on the motorway. Paramedics assisted at the scene, and after stabilizing the man, transferred him to Candelaria hospital with serious head injuries. JA

By 1300 the north/westbound carriageway was at a dead stop for several kms.  Nearly had an accident due to rubberneckers on my way east.  I came back through at about 1340 and it was clear, except that I almost had another accident due to rubberneckers.

Wonder what the hell he was doing on the motorway?

A van driver has said he was passing and a silver car was on the hard shoulder near to the police cars. It's speculative, but he could have broken down and got out of the car ...  :undecided:

There was indeed a small silver car on the hard shoulder when I came back through.  Possibly good speculation.
