Windsurfer dies at El Médano

A windsurfer died this afternoon after suffering a heart attack at Playa de El Médano, Granadilla de Abona. Emergency services received calls just after half past four about the 64-year-old man, who had been pulled out of the water by fellow surfers. Protección Civil undertook initial resuscitation, which was then taken up by paramedics, but all efforts were fruitless and the poor man was declared dead at the scene. JA
