The Tenerife Cabildo's economy and employment councillor Efraín Medina has announced the winter Exposaldo in the Recinto Ferial in Santa Cruz. The summer fair in May (link) was a great success and Medina said that this early festive season fair is one of Tenerife's most successful. Once again it is hoped that shoppers and those planning early for Christmas will be keen to pick up some bargains to give a much needed boost to local businesses. The fair will take place between Thursday 6 and Monday 10 November, and will occupy some 12,000 square metres in the centre's main hall, which will be given over to more than 120 businesses occupying over 160 stalls. I think this is something the wife dragged me to not sure? If it is the same one it was OK They had all sorts. Clothes, shoes, general household items and some electrical stuff and not one 'Chinese tat' stall. They even had cars. I got the impression that some of the stalls were not confined to businesses on the Islands but some from the peninsula, as I say it was just an impression.
All in all it got the thumbs up from me, even though I was dragged there kicking and screaming. Now if its worth a trip all the way from the South I wouldn't like to say. But if your going to combine it with other business or just a day out, yes its maybe an hour and a half shopping under one roof.

There was just one thing I remembered. I am sure there was an entry fee? We had some free tickets, I can't remember where the wife got them from but there did seem to be a lot of people with them.

might you be thinking of the Christmas one itself, the PIT (Parque Infantil y Juvenil de Tenerife)? That had an entrance fee ... (link)

Don't think so Janet. I don't think it had anything to do with children stuff. As I as there were a large number of cars for sale. Bit of everything really and as I say no Chinese tat to be seen anywhere. We are talking about the same building the one on the left as you enter Santa Cruz prior to the Auditorium? :undecided:

Janet

yes, that's the one, but I've never known these exposaldos have an entry fee. Many of the private events there do, though.

The wife's just got in and the entry fee was about €2 each but we cant remember exactly when it was. That chap from Mirame TV was there doing a live broadcast, I do remember that. However the wife said that almost every exhibition housed there attracts an entry fee. With that said I am sure years ago we went to a exhibition of Canary's (the birds) and I'm sure it was free :undecided:

Anyway even if there is a €2 PP entry fee I think its still OK.
