Naviera Armas ferries affected by wild seas

Naviera Armas has cancelled its Tenerife-La Gomera and Tenerife-El Hierro routes for today due to the bad sea conditions which have forced the closure of the mooring area in Los Cristianos harbour. The Tenerife-La Palma connection, scheduled for 6.30pm will leave instead from Santa Cruz. Tomorrow's Tenerife and La Gomera routes scheduled for 11.30am a 2pm are also cancelled. Sources from Fred Olsen say that its ferries are operating normally though docking more slowly than usual. Aemet says that the Canaries will remain on yellow alert for "costeros" (heavy seas) until at least midnight on Thursday.  JA
