A 70-year-old woman died this lunchtime after suffering a cardiac arrest – a recognized symptom of cold water shock – in the sea at Playa de Abades, Arico. Emergency services were called out just after 1pm with reports that the woman had been pulled from the water by fellow bathers. Paramedics attempted resuscitation, efforts which were taken up by the crew of a medical ambulance, but they were unable to save her, and she was declared dead at the scene. JA

I'm surprised she was in the water. The wife is up in that area with her brother and family. She just rang me to say the waves or two to three meters high!

They just won't listen, or learn, P.  :banghead:

Well it must be bad for the wife not to go into the water. I don't 'do' the beach but the wife would live on it!! The last thing I tell her every time she goes is "Just remember your 60 not 16"

She's lucky to be married to such a smoothie!

I think she knows I'm more concerned about who's going to cook my dinner if anything happens! :giggle:

Not really!

I can't take my eyes off mine.  ::)

I was knackered yesterday due to regular doses of Cocodomol so I went for a sleep.

When I got up she'd cut the back lawn and strimmed the vegetable weed patch.  ::)
