Man dies after being run over on TF1

A 79-year-old man died shortly before midday after being run over on the TF1 near Santa María del Mar near Carrefour. Emergency services were called out but were unable to resuscitate the man who was declared dead at the scene, with initial police reports being unclear as to whether the poor soul fell from a bridge or had been walking on the motorway. Two cars crashed as a result of the incident causing a significant traffic jam. JA

It turns out that the man was trying to cross the TF1 on foot when he was run over, despite some initial reports claiming he'd fallen or thrown himself from a bridge over the motoray. Thankfully, none of the drivers of the cars which crashed trying to avoid the man was hurt even though their cars received significant damage. JA
