Garachico will host FICMEC 2014, the Festival Internacional de Cine Medioambental de Canarias (International Environmental Film Festival of the Canaries), a celebration of films all focused in one way or another on the environment. The event is being held between 28 May and 1 June in the former convent of San Francisco. The festival will have official sections for cinematic fiction, documentary and animation, and will include parallel and educational activities.

Film festival prizes will be awarded for Best Feature Film or Animation, Best Documentary Feature, Best Short Film and Audience Award Telesforo Bravo. For more information about the festival and the related activities, please see the dedicated website HERE. JA
