Woman dies after car falls in Santa Cruz harbour

A 49-year-old Italian woman died after her Renault Clio fell into Santa Cruz harbour this lunchtime. at Santa Cruz. Local police, harbour authorities and bomberos were all involved in the rescue effort, but sadly she was unconscious by the time she was extricated from the vehicle and despite attempts at resuscitation, nothing could be done to save her life. She was declared dead at the scene and the Guardia Civil and National Police are investigating the tragic incident. JA
