Bather missing off Playa de Benijo

Emergency teams are out tonight searching for a bather lost off Playa de Benijo, Taganana, on the north coast of Tenerife. Lifeboats, local and national police, and a search and rescue helicopter are all involved in looking for the missing man. JA

 The man is said to be German, and he went missing around 5pm. The search will now be resumed in the morning.

The search resumed at first light this morning. Sea, land and air teams are searching, involving lifeboats, search and rescue helicopters, Policía Nacional, Guardia Civil, and Cruz Roja. JA

 The search at sea, and by land and air, for the missing German swimmer has resumed this morning for the third day.
