Man dies after falling into sea while fishing in Las Bajas area of Santiago del Teide

A 77-year-old man died shortly after 2pm this afternoon when he fell into the sea while fishing in the Las Bajas area of Santiago del Teide. Emergency services were called out and after finding him unconscious, rescued him with a jet ski, and took him to Los Gigantes harbour where paramedics attempted to resuscitate him. Their repeated efforts were to no avail, however, and the poor man was confirmed dead at the scene. JA
