It's the 40th of May ...

They call the 9th of June the 40th of May here, the date at which Spring becomes Summer for weather purposes regardless of astronomical or meteorological rationales, and after which the weather is going to be good for the duration, until the Autumn sometime in November ... :D

They also have a saying here which corresponds to my grandmother's old "ne'er cast a clout til May is out" ... but it's the 9th June, not the end of May. They say "ne'er cast a clout until the 40th of May" ... doesn't have quite the ring in English! In Spanish it's "Hasta el 40 de mayo no te quites el sayo" ...
