German walker found dead in La Orotava area

A 68-year-old German walker who has been missing since Thursday after going walking in the La Orotava area has sadly been found dead, emergency services have announced. The poor man was found at the bottom of a barranco in the Aguamansa area around 4pm this afternoon, after several days intensive searches by helicopter and land units from the Grupo de Emergencias y Salvamento (GES), the Guardia Civil, Red Cross, Ayuda en Emergencias Anaga (AEA), members of the Centro Coordinador Insular de Emergencias (Cecopin), Bomberos, and the Policía Local of both La Orotava and Santa Úrsula. His body has now been transferred to the judicial authorities where an autopsy is likely to be ordered. JA

Don't have a lot of sympathy for someone who violates all rules of walking/hiking.  RIP.
