Actually I have to say, if the forgers are that good that the final appearance inside and out is "près que la perfection"*, credit to them!  That's some damn skill they have

Quote.....40,000 euros (£35,000), compared to more than 200,000 euros that an authentic model would cost

If it's that much cheaper it's obviously not going to be genuine. Caveat emptor.

I wonder who they're intended to fool?

The buyer would know it's fake by the price. Unless it's to fool his mates down the golf club.  :undecided:

We saw a kit car once at an air show. It was, to all intents and purposes a Ferrari Spyder and it was immaculate. Beautiful beige leather interior, Ferrari logo embossed seats, the lot. But it fooled my petrol head son for all of five seconds. The panel gaps weren't right and the brake calipers were a dead giveaway.

And as for the fakes, unless they've got a high revving V8 under the bonnet, they would fool no-one once the key was turned.  ::)

They are kit cars, not meant to fool anyone.
