Roadworks to disrupt TF4 and TF5 this week

The Tenerife Cabildo has started resurfacing and improvement works on the TF4 (road from the TF1 down to the Santa Cruz auditorium) and the TF5 at its approach to Santa Cruz. Works started yesterday and are expected to continue for the whole of the week. They are to be carried out at night between 10pm and 6am, but evidently there will be some disruption in daytime hours with carriageway reductions and detours, and so it might be worth leaving any non-essential journey to the capital until at least next week.

Cabildo roads consejero José Luis Delgado asked drivers to take great care, and apologised for any inconvence, saying that the roads are extremely busy ones and need the proposed works to increase accessibility and security. As they always say here, it will be very nice when it's finished: the TF2 (road connecting TF1 and TF5 that goes past IKEA) is marvellously unrecognizable now after similar works were recently finished.
