Santiago del Teide Almond Blossom photography competition with €300 first prize open to all

Santiago del Teide Ayuntamiento is holding an Almendro en Flor (almond blossom) photographic competition with cash prizes for the top three entries. First prize will be €300, second prize €200, and third prize €150. The competition closes at midday 25 February, and is open to all non-professional photographers over 18 of any nationality and regardless of where they live.

The theme, evidently, will be almond in blossom, and the photo must be taken in Santiago del Teide. Competitors may submit two entries, in colour or back and white, of a minimum 40×30, framed and glazed to avoid deterioriation through humidity. JPEG images can be submitted digitally with a minimum 4 mpixel resolution. All entries must have the title of the work on the front and the place where the photo was taken, and behind the photo, a sealed envelope should contain details of the entrant, specifically name, age, DNI/NIE, nationality, address, telephone and, if applicable, email address. The name of the work, the same as on the front of the photo, should be written on the outside of the envelope.

The jury will consist of qualified photographers and representatives from the Ayuntamiento, and their winner will be announced on15 March in the town hall where the winning entries will be exhibited, as well as in the press and on the council website. Winners will be advised personally by telephone. Winners may only win one of the three prizes, and the first prize will not be awarded to anyone who has won it previously.
