The wife went into a local Caja La Caixa to withdraw some cash for her mother. She only wanted 100€ and approached the only person working in the bank. The wife was told that only amounts over 300€ can be withdrawn via the counter staff and all amounts under 300€ must be taken from the cash machines.
The wife quite rightly said that she didn't have a card and wanted 100€ but then went on to say, what if the customer is like my mother, 84 and has never had a card in her life let alone used a cash machine, or has difficulty is seeing or arthritis in their hands and couldn't work the machines?
To be fair she was talking to the wrong person so she left it there. The wife did get the 100€ as a 'favour' but not again.

Perikles

I would have demanded to withdraw 300.01 euros, got the cash, then demanded to deposit 200.01 euros 3 milliseconds later. Fucking morons.

God, if we had that rule I'd only have a fraction of the queue I deal with, well, that and a riot!  The other day somebody queued for my cashdesk to withdraw €1.50!  Of course I attended them with the same friendly smile and professional courtesy that I afford to everybody else.  Except the miserable bastards who have no manners, but I do over-the-top friendly with them because I see it as a challenge  :D
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

Glad I don't bank where Guanche's OH's mother does!
