The Spanish 'Robin Hood's'?

Just had somewhat of a heated chat with the wife, bare in mind she is Spanish:P

It was about a TV news article from the peninsular. A mayor from a small village in Savilla has taken it upon himself to become a latter day Robin Hood. With his 'gang' of male follower they entered  a Carrifour and took food items without paying and handed them to a food charity.

My wife took the side of the mayor saying that his actions were quite correct and he was doing nothing wrong.
I however took the line of law and order, whilst sympathising with he plight of Spain's hungry there can be no excuse for lawlessness and to me this man and his gang are thieves and should be dealt with accordingly.  What do you think Saint or thief?

I can see both sides of this, really, but what actually struck me was that the mayor stood by the sidelines inciting rather than taking part himself .....

I must admit Janet I hadn't noticed that, but I doubt that will (hopefully) accord him no defence if he's arrested.
Couldn't agree more Sentinal. Like it or loth it, with all it's inequalities unfairness and abuses, law and order is all we have. Loose that and we stand to loose everything.

If some break the law this will be the thin end of the wedge and where will it stop ?

Thief.  He is not stealing from 'nobody', he is stealing from somebody.  Somebody who has had to pay for the goods he stole.  And it is not Somebody's sole responsibility to feed starving people.  The mayor is an idiot.

I can't honestly see two sides to this.
A communist militant union (Sindicato Andaluz de Trabajadores SAT) decide to make a stand against evil capitalists.
OK ..... attack a bank, have a go at the government, but Mercadona ????

Mercadona is a good employer.... they have a problem with their tomatoes .... but they can't be blamed in any way for the economic situation.
I think these twerps are probably regretting it now.
