British woman has lucky escape as paraglider crashes above Taucho

A 30-year-old British woman had a lucky escape yesterday evening when the two-seater paraglider she was in crash landed in La Quinta, above Taucho, Adeje. Emergency services say that they were called out just after 6pm with reports of the accident, in which the woman fortunately suffered no worse than slight leg injuries. Her 50-year-old French partner in the paraglider also suffered leg injuries. The nature of the area where they crashed is very steep and a GES Search and Rescue helicopter was required to assist Adeje Bomberos in the rescue, and the pair were taken to Hospitén Sur where their conditions are said not to be serious.
