This time, an Irish lady walked into the sea off Lanzarote at 4 in the morning after a night out and drowned.  What did the police do? Arrested a man she had been with for not diving in and saving her.

He should have called emergency services but he ran away because (they say) he has a criminal record and didn't want to be implicated. They don't want extra bodies but it is a crime here not to call emergency services if you see an emergency.
