The annual Walk for Life, now in its twelfth year, will be held on Sunday 11 December, starting at the Compostela Beach/CC Oasis in Playa de las Américas and ending at the Magma Centre, a distance of 3.5km. Walkers will set off at 11am, but there's an innovation this year, and there's a race for those who wish to run the distance – they will start at 10.45am. As always, participants are advised to turn up early as there are lots of activities planned before the official set off.

For those who don't already know, the walk takes place every December, and is a rallying call for cancer sufferers and survivors. It's a unifying event which brings together Spanish cancer charities and support organisations, people living with cancer, their friends and families, those who have sadly lost someone to cancer, and on a wider scale the general public of Adeje and Arona, a multi-cultural mix in itself, as the walk always crosses from one borough to another, alternately starting in Adeje and Arona, and ending in the other municipality. The event has a dedicated website HERE.
