I've been to Abades but never to the leper colony. It's definitely on my to-do-list, it looks like something straight from a video game!

Really nice posts, NAH, about a place I've never visited on our brilliant little island.  I would really like to see this. 

@Myrtle Hogan-Lance have you ever been to Poris? If not, maybe one day we could go up there and look into Abades on the way. I'll take a crucifix and a pile of garlic ...

We went to Abades once when we were looking at where to live. It was like a ghost town. We parked in the huge car park along with a handful of cars. We looked at the people in the bar sheltering round a corner to try to keep out of the howling wind and decided not to get out of the car.
