Renewal of EHIC by internet for Tenerife residents

It seems you can now request renewal of the EHIC card in Spain by internet at https://sede.seg-social.gob.es/Sede_1/Lanzadera/index.htm?URL=98 though it does say it's for renewals only and only if the SS have your current address in the system.  Otherwise and for the first card, you still need to go in person.

I have just requested mine, I will let you know how long it takes
