The Canarian government has said that its promised review of last year's new tourism legislation will start within the next couple of days. President Rivero made the announcement in parliament, where he said that the review will be "internal and external" but that the data so far show a "very satisfactory evolution" of the legislation in its first year.

The president said that in this year some 35,000 tourist places have been renovated, with almost complete upgrade of renovated accommodation to 4*. The government is also, he said, mobilizing more than half the €1,825 million credit approved by argeement between banks and government, and that the potential of the new law is most evident so far in south Gran Canaria , Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.
