Diver in hospital after getting the bends

......diving to a depth of shall we say 1 metre exerts insufficient increased pressure on the body as to cause the Bends on ascent back to the surface.

Seriously NAH? 1m is like getting in and getting wet.  Does somebody have to have a very bad condition for that to have such a negative impact on them?

Read my post again Myrtle  I said 1 Metre is insufficient and therefore depth is a contributing factor in getting the bends. Whereas Perikles said

Obviously, the great the depth the greater the risk of bends. I shall really have to spell things out here in future.
