Los Abrigos fiestas patronales de San Blas start this weekend

I probably get asked about this fiesta more than any single other one! Granadilla Ayunamiento has released its schedule HERE of its fiestas patronales de San Blas. They begin this weekend with a baile de magos on Saturday 6th at 8pm in church square. The big day, with the procession of the religious statue from the church to the harbour and the fireworks afterwards is Saturday 13th from 8pm. Sunday, too, will see a religious mass together with another embarkation and a fiesta palmera de blanco from 7pm in the church square. JA

Janet are the fireworks definitely Saturday? I always thought they were but a resident is saying no they are on Sunday. As the visitor I don't like to argue to much until I'm absolutely sure.

Saturday, yes, from 8 or so when there's a mass and then a procession to the harbour, the embarkation and then fireworks. HERE's Granadilla Ayuntamiento's website page on the fiesta just for your absolute confirmation ... you can sound off with full confidence now!

What the resident might be talking about is that there is also something on Sunday, a mass at midday and another embarkation ... and then a "fiesta palmera de blanco" in the evening from 8.30 in the Church Square. I have no idea what a "fiesta palmera de blanco" actually is ...

There's then a foam party on Monday and an evening party with music from 11.30 in Church Square ...

but the only fireworks mentioned by the council are on Saturday!
