OMG!!!!!  Sirens!!!! Coming down my street!!!!  That never happens so I rushed to the balcony. 

It was the police escort for the taxi parade.  The lead vehicle had a slightly leaning figure of the patron saint of taxis; can't remember who he is but I think Janet figured it out.  Then came dozens of taxis decorated in garlands and balloons, each and every one of the laying on their horns. 

Right about now they ought to be near Janet and Perikles.

Saint Fiacre ... was Nova (link). And again nothing up our way ... they must get to the main village road and then turn downhill towards the Guía road ... 

As she says, though, it's the wrong feast day, but the other option, St Cristopher (link) has apparently been desainted for not having existed ...

There were firecrackers coming from what seemed to be near your church and they came back down the Vera road and down our street heading towards Guía.

Just too bloody early on a Sunday morning for that.  These people should be strung up    You have my sympathy Myrtle.

Don't forget that they had me up before 5 am the other day setting up for the Clausura; then yesterday morning they started the tear down well before sun up.  9.30 seems like noon to me these days.
