Man found dead on TF1

A man was found dead this morning on the TF-1 at the TF4 junction in Santa Cruz. Emergency services were called out call around 5.20am but on arrival, paramedics could do nothing other than confirm his death at the scene. The man's has not yet been identified, and there are no details at this point as to how he died. The Guardia Civil are investigating. JA

 The police have said on Radio El Dia that shortly after the man was fatally knocked down, another accident was recorded in the Avenida Marítima, the TF4 extension road down to the auditoriuim and harbour. At present, they are treating it as a serious possibility that it's the same vehicle involved in two hit and run accidents this morning. There is no detail on the second accident yet. JA

A man has been arrested in Santa Cruz for knocking down and killing the man found dead on the TF1 this morning. Gruesomely, police say that remains of the dead man's organs were found underneath his car. He has been tested for alcohol and drugs and the results are awaited. There is no news at present as to whether the detainee was also responsible for the second accident on the Avenida Marítima. JA
