Cyclist in critical condition in Candelaria hospital after collision with car in El Tanque

A 38-year-old cyclist is in hospital in critical condition tonight with head injuries after colliding with a car at 1pm this afternoon in El Tanque, the municipality next to Santiago del Teide. He was treated by a doctor and nurse from the El Tanque medical centre immediately after the accident and then transferred by helicopter to Candelaria hospital where he is said to be fighting for his life.
