The Tenerife Cabildo has handed over the entire sum collected over Christmas from 23,700 people who paid to visit its belén (nativity scene) to Amate, the Asociación de mujeres con cáncer de mama (Association of women with breast cancer). President Carlos Alonso, consejera de Acción Social Cristina Valido, and consejera de Museos Amaya Conde, met with the president of Amate, María del Carmen Bonfante, to make the presentation. Among the association's objectives is to spread the message about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, and the assistance and support that is available from Amate. A lovely gesture by new President Carlos Alonso, and the Cabildo of Tenerife. JA

That's nice. I suppose the actual sum is secret.
