Diver dies at Las Eras, Arico

A 55-year-old Dutch diver died shortly before midday today while diving at Las Eras in the Arico area. Emergency services were called out for assistance after he failed to surface, and he was pulled from the water by fellow diving club members and other bathers, but paramedics who arrived by helicopter were unable to save him despite their attempts to resuscitate him, and could do nothing other than confirm his death at the scene.
