Alfombras de Sal (carpets of salt) in the streets of Adeje for Corpus Christi

This weekend, 1 and 2 June, an annual spectacle that should not be missed tales place in the main street of Adeje. In honour of the religious festival of Corpus Christi,  some 3,500 kilos of vibrantly coloured salt will be used to create alfombras de sal (carpets of salt) throughout Calle Grande and Calle Corpus in the old part of the town.  Each carpet is created by a different collective, which will start work around 6pm tomorrow, Saturday, with the religious Corpus Christi procession on Sunday at 6pm.

The collectives taking part are Hermandad del Santísimo; Parroquia de San José de Los Olivos; grupo de comunión, jóvenes de confirmación, Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza de Adeje (EMMA); Universidad de La Laguna (ULL); Ballet Beanky; Parroquia de Fañabé; Bomberos Voluntarios de Adeje, AEA Sur; Todo Foto; Asociación de Vecinos El Galeón; Mariano y Gema vecinos de la Calle Grande; Cit SUR; Asgote; colectivo de Mayores de Adeje; Asociación de Mujeres de Blanco; Gimnasia Rítmica; Juventud de Adeje; Porteadores de la Virgen; Taller Ocupacional Los Olivos; Escuela Infantil de Folclore de Adeje; Grupo Municipal de la Escuela de Folclore de Adeje; Cáritas y Colegio Costa Adeje.
