La Laguna University has now opened its registration for the Adeje Summer University ( Universidad de Verano de Adeje) 2013, which will take place on 15 – 19 July. Thirteen courses are on offer, ranging from the fields of social and health sciences, to those of humanities, architecture and engineering. Prices vary depending on course and borough residency, but generally are between €25 and €70.  There are full details of the courses HERE, and those interested can register at Adeje Cultural Centre between 9am and 1pm on weekdays. I know it's only a summer university, but only five days?
Yes, that'll be 4 hours a day as all the courses are 20 hours.

I can't quite make up my mind whether to go for -
"How to approach treating patients with a serious injury to the cranium" - 20 hours (Cómo abordar la atención del paciente con traumatismo craneoencefálico grave.) sic !
or -
"Football and the post modern society" - 20 hours

And I'm not sure about -
"Creactivando el Enogastroturismo. - 20 horas" mainly because neither of those words actually exists.

You're right Prof, none of those courses look remotely useful for actually getting a job....  :-X
If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know amazing.

How about the one on immigrants?  Might learn some PC vocabulary in Spanish.

I just don't get it. There are very few courses and they all seem highly specialized and obscure. Am I right in thinking that it is just an extension for students at La Laguna and that Joe Public will not have the remotest interest in any of them? If so, it seems rather pointless advertising it at all.  :017:

More likely the good intentions of some out of touch academics ....  or .... 75 € - 20 hours - 15 students = a quick grand, but they'd still have to be pretty out of touch with reality.

Who'll bet that most of them are cancelled for lack of intesrest?
