Perikles

I find this irritating beyond belief. They just don't get the idea that with classical music, the music itself is important, and the actual performers are important too, but still secondary to that.

There are special exceptions: a childrens orchestra where parents have to go and listen regardless, and, say, Birgit Nilsson, who was always worth listening to.  :gonnagetit:

And my FB conversation with Guía de Isora tourism bods is as follows:

Gracias.

So it's the musicians themselves who aren't releasing the info, rather than the "authorities" not seeing the need to transmit it.

Is this contempt for the audience? Or something else?

(in English, I asked the tourism people what the programme was, and they gave me a phone number for the culture dept, "for further information". I replied that it was incredible that I had to make a phone call to find out information that should not just be shown, but prominently shown ... and they replied that they were sorry but thus far they hadn't been told by the orchestra what they were performing ... )
